Imagination is more important than knowledge. There's a question we ask ourselves.
What is evil? What is dark?
What does "horror" mean?
In my story I attempt to explore that. There are always certain...truths that exist about horror.
The shroud of cruelty that envelops a heart gets thicker and thicker the more you try to separate yourself from others in a vain attempt to face your own demons...

What makes somebody good? What makes them evil? The mystery is why do these distinctions exist at all? Well, there are reasons for everything, that is what I believe. What cannot be explained by the mind can be understood by the heart and so on. Therefore there must be a REASON why there is good and evil in the world...and there must, by definition, be a standard to which all are held that determines what is good and what is evil. We would not know about the stars above if we were blind. You would not call a man merciful for not setting mousetraps if there were no mice in the house. The action of us asking "why" implies there is an answer.
So there is a reason for evil and good. There is a standard things are held to. Where it comes from I know not. But I know this...under the right circumstances, people are capable of doing both sweet, amazing and wonderful things just as they can commit the most horrifying of abominable behavior...
With each turn of fate the circumstances come together like tumblers in a lock and unleash our most horrifying potential...

These little wonders...stiiiiill remaaaaain...
Well, unemployment and deppression are the greatest sources of horror at the moment along the fact that nine out of ten politicians are willing to start a nuclear war if they have a bad day.
Good and evil is all about free will. Because we can choose we must make a choice for better or for worse. Some want to do bad things while some like to do good things. Some do both depending which helps them achieve their goals at that moment.
We are a pretty scary species.

Why would Coraline be saying 'Hail Mary'? I thought she wasn't Catholic but Methodist.
